Charlotte Cho-Lan Lee, Attorney-at-Law

Family Law

Matrimonial and Family Law make up the greatest single part of Charlotte C. Lee's practice.  She has long been an active member of the Matrimonial Law Section of the New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA).  She served as the Matrimonial Law Section's Co-Chair from July 1997 to July 2000.

Ms. Lee was an appointed member of the statewide Matrimonial Commission, ("Miller Commission"), charged with examining every facet of the divorce process in New York and recommending reforms.  The Commission's final report was published in February of 2006.

Ms. Lee's office provides the full range of Family Law services.  She handles matters before the Family Court as well as before the Supreme Court of the State of New York.  She represents both men and women, and has also served as Law Guardian and as Guardian ad Litem to protect the interests of minor children.

Some of the matters Charlotte C. Lee commonly handles are
  • Separation
  • Contested Divorce
  • Uncontested Divorce
  • Antenuptial Agreements
  • Child Custody
  • Paternity
  • Child Support
  • Spousal Support

Because family law matters frequently involve property, estate and tax issues, Ms. Lee's familiarity with such related areas is of great benefit to her clients.

Persons involved in matrimonial or family disputes are often especially vulnerable.  Ms. Lee is an assertive, informed, and effective advocate, but she is also distinguished by her sympathetic understanding.  She encourages clients to stand up for their rights, but keep personal disputes in perspective and get on with their lives.
